The row over the infamous 89 cuts over release of crime thriller film Udta Punjab has generated a lot of debate over the role of Central Board of Film Certification(CBFC). The film made under the banner of Phantom Films Pvt Limited got support from various quarters. Anurag Kashyap, the co-producer of the movie protested against the move calling its chief Pahlaj Nihalani oligarch and dictator. The movie staring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role also got support from film fraternity which termed it an attack over the creativity of film makers. On the other hand the board defended its cut on various ground like usage of state name, portrayal of negative image of Punjab and more. Even before the decision of High Court, CBFC surprisingly gave clearances to the movie with 13 cuts and an 'A' certificate. Now the question lies that is Censor Board killing the creativity of movies like "Udta Punjab" with its cuts ?
