When the center brought ordinance against National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test ( NEET ) to override the May 9 order of the Supreme Court, it was seen as an attempt to bypass the judiciary. The Supreme Court had ruled that students would have to appear for NEET from this academic session itself for admissions to medical and dental colleges across the country. However Union Cabinet favored to apply it from next academic session.Even President sought the rationale behind taking the ordinance route to keep state boards out of the ambit of NEET for this year. The center argued that as many states have conducted phase one of medical examination so it would not be fair for selected students to undertake another test again. Issues like management quota seats, domicile and reservation of seats further act as a hindrance for implementing NEET this year. Now do you agree with ordinance route taken by the union government on NEET issue.
